How To Clean Airsoft Guns


Most any type of airsoft gun, including, gas, electric, and spring can be cleaned in basically the same way. It is very important to keep the guns clean and clean them regularly to ensure that they last and function well for the long term, it is a fact that most airsoft guns malfunction or break because they are not kept clean and taken care of and regularly cleaning airsoft guns can ensure better performance, accuracy and reliability and a quicker shooting rate.

Cleaning the Exterior of the Airsoft Gun Cheap Airsoft Guns

The first step in cleaning airsoft guns is to clean the exterior. First, remove the battery and gas tank if your gun has one. Second, thoroughly wipe the exterior with a soft cloth, or old t-shirt and use a cotton swab, or q-tip on the grit.

To clean the magazine of the airsoft gun follow these steps:

1. Remove the magazine
2. Wipe with clean dry cloth, or an old t-shirt that is clean.
3. Use a q-tip for the smaller and more intricate areas.
4. Apply a few drops of oil on all the parts, including the spring.
5. Return magazine to the airsoft gun.

Cleaning the Barrel Cleaning Rod for Airsoft Gun Cleaning

The last process of cleaning an airsoft gun is to clean the barrel. Follow these steps:

1. Turn off the gun's hopper system is there is one.
2. Use a .22 caliber cleaning patch with a cleaning rod and add very little silicon spray to the patch.
3. Insert the rod into the inside of the barrel and swab with an in and out motion, use care.
4. Remove rod from the barrel.
5. Replace the wet patch with a dry one.
